How to Hear BeatsBucket Music

Our goal at BeatsBucket is quite simple: We want to create an arena in which friends can share great music with each other.

Each month we create a collaborative playlist and keep it open for two weeks. Anyone can add music!

The Curators will then clean up all suggested songs and publish a final Spotify playlist. Sit back and enjoy!

Benjamin Francis Leftwich - Pictures (GZUS Remix)

This song makes me act like a mirror. As in, I reflect the whole time I'm listening. Just like his brother Byron Leftwich, Benjamin is a deep threat. As in, after listening to this, you can say "I'm deep now. And I've always been a threat."

Fanfarlo - Shiny Things (Yeasayer Remix)

This track sounds about what I assume a benign alien abduction would feel like. Probing, but with respect a smattering of respect. Count this as further support for the theory that if aliens were to make contact, they would do so through Yeasayer.

Winter Playlists - A Skillful Drip

There was a point in time when my entire mp3 player was so stuffed with The Shins that even James Mercer had a blank space on the front of his legs between his knees and ankles. There were no more Shins to go around.

Granted, that was back when an mp3 player could only hold 50 songs, but still the band was a significant part of my life for a long time. Probably too long. And now... they're back! Reminding me all over again that I love The Shins. Their new track, Simple Song, a single released to garner interest in their upcoming album, Port of Morrow, is instantly addicting. I've probably listened to it 20 times in the last two days. And here I go again...
